ALBUM REVIEW- Thriller by Michael Jackson

Thriller, by Micheal Jackson.

Released in 1982, this album is the most best-selling album of all time. But, is it worth the records?

Let me describe this album track-by-track. The first song, Wanna Be Starting Something, is an absolute banger. It’s funky and it’s danceable. It’s the obvious contender for one of the best openers of any album.

Baby Be Mine is the worst track. The instrumental is decent, but Michael is screaming his lungs out in a manner that is close to vocal cord explosion.

The Girl is Mine, having the only feature (that being former Beatle Paul McCartney), has a musical dialogue-like structure. It also has a soul-like composition, which makes the track similar to the likes of Marvin Gaye or those other repetitive slow 80s songs.

What comes next is the banger trilogy of Thriller, Beat It, and Billie Jean. They compliment themselves with danceable beats, funky basslines, and a composition that deserves its fame and glory.

Human Nature gives you a break from all that disco, and shows you that love is in the air. It feels like you’re dancing with your lover on the balcony of a rich guy’s house, or at a restaurant with a good view. Overall a great break from all that clutter….

And it THRUSTS you back to the clutter with Pretty Young Thing, the best song off this album. It has the perfect ingredients for a groovy No.1. And it kinda was, reaching number 10 on the Billboard Hot 100.  Too bad it got a remix with that will.i.am.

And lastly, The Lady in My Life, the ending track to this short but wild album. It’s a calm end in a high note.

Ultimately, Michael absolutely won my heart, I recommend listening to this masterpiece.

OVERALL RATING: 10/10
